Sarah is a woman finally ready to claim her life back after years of being controlled by her husband. As the mom to five kids, she has to put their needs first and find a way out that will protect all of them.

When a man calls with promises to help her career soar, she puts everything she has into his claims and the dream of escaping. Unfortunately, nothing is as it appears. Nothing. Can Sarah survive the destructive games trying to overtake her life? Will she be able to figure out who the real enemy is?

I have to say... wow! There were so many unexpected twists and turns in this steamy novel. The sex scenes are not for the faint of heart, not just because of the very adult language and situations but because of the intense manipulation and cruelty. Sarah goes through a lot, but I was shocked at the depth of her character. She makes many questionable decisions, but I found myself rooting for her nonetheless.

I apologize for being vague about the storyline, but I don't want to give anything away. Every time I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong. But I have to say, I hated the ending. I'm not even sure what to think about it. My first thought was there must be a sequel, but it was definitely not what I wanted for Sarah.

I highly recommend for readers who enjoy a intricately woven storyline with a strong, albeit flawed and frustrating, female main character. But it is definitely adult with little left to the imagination.

About the Author

Becky Komant was born and raised in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia.  Spending most of her childhood years outdoors and playing sports, Becky’s passion for fitness was ignited.  Working at a gym at the age of 16, she then went on to an advertising position at a local newspaper following high school.  Soon after, Becky started her family and wanted to be more involved with her children.  It was then that Becky followed her passion and founded a successful private training studio.   Realizing that being a trainer was much more than just helping people physically, this lead her in the direction of becoming a certified life coach.  Because of her fitness and life coaching career, Becky always envisioned writing a book.  Overtime and thought, it evolved into her first novel, The Controlled. With more writing on the horizon, she hopes to inspire others on many levels. Becky continues to reside in Kelowna with her family.
