Prismatic by Sarah Elle Emm (5 stars) -- Review & Giveaway

About Prismatic

Rare glimpses of birds are the only reminder of the freedoms Rain Hawkins once had. Now segregated into a mixed-race zone within the United Zones of the Authority, under tyrannical rule of President Nicks, Rain is forced to endure the bleak conditions set upon her. The possibility of a way out arises when Rain discovers an organized resistance called The Freedom Front, and learns that she, along with many other multi-racial people, has special abilities. Determined to overcome her situation, Rain sets out on a mission with the resistance that will fill her life with wonder, romance, and the undying hope for a better world.

Review

Loved, loved, loved this book. From page one, I was captivated by the characters and premise. Territories have been created by race, with mixed races at the bottom of the barrel. Families are divided and dissenters are sent to prison.

Rain has to follow her heart, which leads her to a group who wants to prepare to challenge the new regime. So much is against them, but they have discovered gifts special to their multi-racial blood.

There's romance, danger, intrigue, and intense emotions. Although Rain was the highlight, I was drawn to her family and love interest as well. This story sped by, and I was left with an intense craving for book two when I came to the last page. Prismatic is absolutely exhilarating without losing the richness of emotion and character development.

I highly recommend this book, particularly to fans of Hunger Games. Book two will immediately go into my to be read pile. Please pick it up while it's only 99 cents!
